Manufacturing ERP's inventory module is your real-time view of what you have on hand. Use it to check stock levels across all 1,000+ items, make manual quantity adjustments, and review each item's adjustment history — the single source of truth your Work Orders and MRP engine rely on. If you are running a bolt-on inventory tool alongside your books, when to stop using a bolt-on inventory tool covers the point at which that arrangement breaks down.
The list shows every item in your product catalog with its live quantity on hand. Use the controls at the top to narrow the view:
Qty on hand is above the item's reorder point. No action needed.
Qty on hand is at or below the reorder point. Consider placing a purchase order.
Qty on hand is zero. Work Orders requiring this item will show a material shortage.
Click Adjust in the Actions column for any item to open the Adjust Stock panel. The panel shows the current quantity and a live preview of the new quantity as you fill in the fields.
Select the Adjustment Type:
Add to Stock (+) — increases the on-hand qty (e.g. receiving a shipment, returning a part).
Remove from Stock (–) — decreases the on-hand qty (e.g. manual scrap, write-off).
Enter the Quantity to add or remove. The New Qty (Preview) at the top of the panel updates immediately so you can verify the outcome.
Select a Reason from the dropdown. Common reasons include:
Cycle Count — periodic physical count correction.
Received Shipment — stock added from a PO receipt.
Damaged / Scrap — material written off as unusable.
Manual Correction — data entry error fix.
Add an optional Note (e.g. "Matched physical count 2025-07-28") for audit trail purposes.
Click Save Adjustment. The Qty on Hand updates immediately and the adjustment is logged in the item's History.
Click History in the Actions column for any item to view its complete adjustment log. Each entry records the date, adjustment type, quantity changed, reason, and the team member who made the change. Use this to:
| Module | How it affects inventory |
|---|---|
| Work Orders — Issue Materials | Clicking Issue Materials on a WO deducts the BOM-specified quantities from inventory automatically. This appears in each component's History as a "Issued to WO" entry. |
| Quality Control — Scrap disposition | Logging a Scrap NCR does not automatically adjust inventory. You must manually remove the scrapped quantity here after closing the NCR. |
| Purchasing & MRP | When a Purchase Order is marked as received, the received quantities are added to inventory automatically — visible in History as a "PO Receipt" entry. |
| Products & BOM — Reorder Point | The reorder point set on each item determines when the status badge switches from In Stock to Low Stock, triggering MRP purchase suggestions. |
Running low on components? Go to Purchasing & MRP to generate purchase orders, or check Products & BOM to update reorder points and vendor details.
