Parent App

Parents sign in on their phone with their registered phone number and a 4-digit PIN from the school. They see only their own children: attendance, fees and receipts, results, homework, timetable, announcements, events, bus details and the messages the school has sent them.

Inviting a parent

The PIN is created when you invite the parent. There is no default PIN, and the school can't look a PIN up later: to reset it, invite the parent again.

  • 1Open Student Directory and find the student.
  • 2In the Actions column, click the phone icon, Invite Parent (App link & PIN).
  • 3Confirm with Send Invite. A new PIN replaces any earlier one for that phone.
  • 4In Invite ready to send, click Open WhatsApp for … and press send in WhatsApp. The message holds the app link, the phone number and the new PIN.

To invite every parent who hasn't been invited yet, use Invite All Parents at the top of Student Directory. The number in brackets is how many parents are waiting.

Siblings share one login: the parent of Aarav and Diya signs in once and switches between the two children.

What parents see

Parents open the link from the invite (/p/parent-app on your school's address) and sign in with their registered phone and PIN. The app can be added to the phone's home screen.

TabWhat's there
HomeToday's attendance, fees due with Pay now, the latest announcement, the next event and today's homework.
AttendanceMonthly calendar and percentage.
FeesDues, Pay now and receipts to download.
ResultsPublished exams with marks and the report card PDF.
MoreHomework (open the teacher's attachment, mark it done), Timetable, Announcements and Events, Bus, Messages from the school, and Profile (contact email, notification preferences, change PIN).

Announcements and events are filtered: a Class 3-A parent sees All School and 3-A notices, not staff-only ones or other classes'.

Until your Razorpay account is connected, Pay now tells parents to pay at the school office.

Wrong PINs and locked logins

Wrong PINs in a rowWhat happens
5Locked for 15 minutes. The parent is told how long to wait.
10Locked for 1 hour, and the school office is alerted.
15 or moreLocked for 24 hours each time.

A login is never locked for good. Locked logins appear on the Dashboard under Locked parent logins, with the phone, students, number of wrong PINs and the time the lock ends. If the parent really forgot the PIN, click Re-invite to unlock: this sends a new PIN and unlocks the login at once.

When a parent changes the PIN under More › Profile, every other device signed in with that phone is signed out.

From the 10th wrong PIN, the office also gets an alert in the app and by email: Parent login locked: phone ending …, 10 wrong PINs, locked until …. Click it to go to the Locked parent logins card. If the parent didn't make these attempts, someone may be guessing PINs.

Troubleshooting

"Phone number or PIN is not correct." Check that the parent is using the phone number saved on the student record. If they've lost the PIN, invite them again.

"Too many attempts from this network." Many wrong PINs came from the same network within an hour. Parents who have signed in from that network before can still sign in; others should wait an hour or use mobile data.
