Dashboard

Your home screen. It walks you through setting up your school, shows today's numbers, and lists who is absent so you can message their parents.

What you see when you log in

VidyaManage opens on the Dashboard. From top to bottom you'll see:

  • A sample data banner, while the sample school that comes with VidyaManage is still loaded.
  • Set up your school — a six-step checklist, shown until every step is done.
  • Five stat cards — students, staff, today's attendance and fees.
  • Four quick-action buttons for the jobs you do every day.
  • Recent Announcements and Absent Today, side by side.

Sample data and starting fresh New

A new VidyaManage comes loaded with a sample school, so every page shows what it looks like in use. While it's there, the Dashboard shows a banner: You're looking at sample data for <sample school>. Explore it, then clear it to set up your own school.

When you're ready to enter your own school:

  • 1Click Clear sample data on the banner.
  • 2Read what will be removed, type CLEAR in the box, and click Clear sample data.

This deletes every sample record: students, parents, staff, classes, subjects, fee types, dues, receipts, attendance, exams, marks, timetable and announcements. Anything you added yourself stays, and so do your own login and staff record. The sample school's name, address, phone, email, logo and UDISE code are blanked, and receipt numbers restart at 1. Your grade scale and message templates are kept.

This can't be undone. There's no way to bring the sample data back, so explore first. Then fill in your own details in School Settings.

The checklist card shows your progress, for example 4 of 6 done. It counts only records you add yourself, so the sample data never ticks a step. Each step has a button that opens the right page. Once all six are done, the card disappears.

Recent Announcements and Absent Today

Recent Announcements lists the five newest notices with their date and audience. Click View all announcements to open Communications.

Absent Today lists every student marked Absent today with their class. Click WhatsApp on a row to open a chat with that student's parent, with the absence message already typed. If attendance hasn't been marked yet, or nobody is absent, the panel says so.

If a number looks wrong

  • Students shows 0 — import or add students from the Student Directory.
  • Today's Attendance is 0% — no class has been marked today. Click Mark Attendance.
  • Fees Overdue is ₹0 but parents owe money — dues only count as overdue once you've generated them and the due date has passed. See Fee Management → Generate Dues.
