Exams & Marks

Create an exam for a class, enter marks in a grid, and see grades and ranks as you type. Report cards and publishing to parents are covered in Report Cards.

Five tabs

Click Marks & Exams in the left sidebar. The page is called Exams & Results and has five tabs: 1. Exams, 2. Enter Marks, 3. Results & Report Cards, 4. Co-scholastic Grades and 5. Report Card Templates. This page covers the first two.

1. Create an exam

  • 1Enter the Exam Name (e.g. Mid-Term Examination) and Term (e.g. Term 1).
  • 2Choose the Class.
  • 3Set the start and end dates under Exam Dates.
  • 4Check Subjects & Marks Scheme. Each subject is written as Name:Max:Pass, separated by commas, for example Mathematics:100:35, Science:100:35. Change the subjects and marks to match the exam.
  • 5Click Save Exam. It appears in the table below with status Draft.

The table shows each exam's term, classes, dates, subjects and status (Draft or Published), with buttons to edit, publish or delete it.

2. Enter marks

  • 1Choose the Exam, Class and Section (or All sections), and click Load Student Sheet.
  • 2Type each student's marks in the subject column. Press Tab to move to the next box. Total, % and Grade update as you type.
  • 3Tick AB next to the box for a student who missed that paper (absent).
  • 4Click Save Marks. You stay on the same grid, so you can keep going.
Grades come from the Grade Scale in School Settings, or from the grade scale on the class's report card template. For example, with A1 from 91%, A2 from 81% and B1 from 71%, a student on 78% gets B1.

Teachers can enter marks for their own classes here or from Teacher Mobile.

Next: results and report cards

When the marks are in, you can publish them with Publish Results on the marks grid, or open 3. Results & Report Cards to see the class ranked, create report card PDFs and publish the results to parents. Each student's marks also appear on their profile's Marks tab. See Report Cards.
